The original impulse for my Heart & Soul mixtape series is to explore lush, feminine sensibilities, atmospheres inspired by my work on fashion shows. Conceived with pleasure in mind, these funky soundtracks lovingly soldering eclectic selections and ecstatic outbursts connect the catwalk with distant balearic emotions, a naive and sensual hedonistic vision of life.
After twelve volumes (I produce three a year) I felt it was the perfect time to push the envelope further and close a coherent chapter in order to figure out new spins on the palatable dj mix to consume at home.
Music mutates constantly, as a dj you’re merely relying on what’s around, new releases and what you can get your hands onto. In many ways you can only go forward if you want to avoid repeating yourself and keep creativity running. The timing is perfect to engage in slightly different avenues and insights, channel some more abstract sounds and face new challenges whilst sticking to the initial concept of joining the dots between fashion and dancefloor, elegance and attitude.
